I pray that someday you get the opportunity to feel a love like this one. To feel a love so radical that it transforms selfish desires into unwavering devotion. A love so strong it terrifies and emboldens you all at once. A love so sure that you would do anything or become anyone they needed, yet it would fill you with a peace that you are more yourself that you’ve ever been.

And as you marvel at this love and who it’s made you to be, that you would understand the love God has for you in a deeper way than ever before. That this love would preach the Gospel to you daily and hourly. That as you sacrifice and strive you would consider it a great joy to be made more like Jesus. And that when you fail, you might offer yourself more grace, now having a fuller idea of how God the Father could love you even at your worst.

I pray that it would be God’s will that you get to experience all of this firsthand one day. And I hope I earn the opportunity to watch, and witness again how love multiplies by the power of Jesus in motherhood. I hope to be there to hold your hand as you take those new steps, much like you hold on so tight now as your wobbly little legs learn to walk. And just like now, I know that oh so soon you will have all of the confidence to run.
